JOHN MACNAB - John Buchan
Who is John Macnab? Three prominent Scottish landowner receive a challenging note which tells them he intends to poach from their estates without being caught, though, if he is he will donate money to a good cause. The reactions of the landowners differs considerably, and sightings of this insolent sportsman provide conflicting evidence as to his identity, prompting speculation as to whether he is a gentlemen or a tramp.
Three wealthy, 'gentlemen' come up with this poaching scheme as a game to break their boredom caused by having too much money and spare time with nothing to challenge them.
This is good fun with beautiful descriptions of the highlands.
